Rip open and mix: READY2MIX | www.READY2MIX.de |

Mixing of dental cement is not that complicated per se.
Due to the exothermic reaction during the mixing procedure, the powder is mixed with the liquid in doses. In order to do this, the powder is divided into different portions. Starting with the smallest amount, the portions are mixed into the liquid one after the other with the spatula. The mass should be smoothed out across the slab every now and again, in order to allow the heat of the chemical reaction to escape.
The most difficult and important part is determining the amount of powder to be introducedto the liquid. As a rule of thumb, a surplus of liquid should be avoided and the mixture should be thoroughly enriched with powder. Only the exact mixing ratio will ensure best material properties such as thin film-thickness and high compressive strength.
For an experienced dentist, dental nurse or assistant, mixing is intuitive: he or she knows exactly what the ratio of powder to liquid should be and how the consistency should look like. However, for inexperienced users this process can present quite a challenge.
Impeding the process is that no two drops or scoops are the same. The powder density may vary during transport and storage. The size of one drop depends on the liquid level in the bottle as well as the exerted pressure onto the bottle.
A ready mix with an optimally balanced mix ratio is obviously the answer to such a problem. However, capsule system as they are being in use for other kinds of cements is definitely not the answer for phosphate cement. The exothermic reaction of the powder and liquid in the capsule causes a technical problem that can only be offset by reaction retarding addictives - at the cost of quality and biocompatibility. Other disadvantages of capsule systems are the rigid mixing proportion that cannot be influenced by the user, together with bad residue discarding and high waste accumulation.
Ideally, a format that allows an optimal mixing condition, leaving, at the same time, a margin for onsite modifications, would be perfect. This is where Hoffmann Dental Manufaktur comes in with their latest innovation.
Hoffmann’s READY2MIX will be unveiled this year at IDS 2009, marking a new market development that demonstrates how easy the mixing of zinc phosphate cement can be. READY2MIX in a stick pack, with a dosage of powder measured to the milligram, together with an innovative bottle dosing system guarantees perfectly sized drops every time. This makes it possible even for the inexperienced to achieve the optimal mixing ratio – both for luting and lining. It is packaged in a uni-type material which leaves no residue behind and can be recycled.
The advantage of READY2MIX is clear. Mixing has become easier and safer. It is also easy on the pocket. There is no need for additional appliances. Naturally, the READY2MIX is available in 15 shades in the varieties: Hoffmann´s Cement normal setting , Hoffmann´s Cement quick setting, as well as Hoffmann´s Carboxylate Cement.
Hoffmann’s is the first company to bring out a dosage system giving practicality and simplicity a new meaning. READY2MIX is now ready for you.
Advantages of READY2MIX
- Powder measured to the exact milligram
- Moisture proof and hygienic packaging
- Perfectly sized drops irrespective of liquid level and exerted pressure
- No rigid mixing proportions: drops count can be varied
- No additional costs for expensive appliances like mixers, applicators, etc.
